Year 4/5: Miss Owen 2024 - 2025

I hope everyone has had a lovely Chrismas and are all looking forward to returning into our new school building- an exciring time for us all! 

Things that are coming up this Spring term. 

In maths we start with reading pictagrams and working out missing data before moving back to division and multiplication.  Times tables is key so please continue learning these at home as it really will help. with all aspects of maths.  We will still have our daily 5 a day sessions to help with our fluency and maths meeting time to review our prior learning. A separate lesson will also be included to help learning times tables through playing games and recall to help us in preparation fo the multiploication check. 

In English, we finish off our wonderful book  called 'Leon and the Place Between' a fabulous circus themed book that we started beofre Christmas. Lots of recapping to do and we will be writing a diary entry as our main piece of work to finish off the text. After this we move onto Escape from Pompeii which links with our Romans topic.  Guided Reading we start with a classic of The BFG by Roald Dahl - one of my favourite books! 

In History we will continue studying the Romans where will be soon be coming to the end of this topic.  Geography we will continue looking at the city of Liverpool. In Science we will move onto looking at rocks and how they are formed. 

PE days will be Monday and Wednesday so please ensure kits are in school. 

Spellings have all been uploaded onto the website for the half term along with the homework questions for this half term. Remember the blind spelling test is on a Monday and then repeated again on Friday.
