Year 5: Mrs Brougham 2024 - 2025
Mrs Brougham
Spring term
Hello everyone and welcome back toYear 5.
As we continue our first term in our brand new building, as well as finding our way around, we continue to focus on becoming independent and organised learners. This includes remembering our homework and organising our own belongings and resources. The motto 'don't get stressed, just try your best', becomes so important as we move through this important next stage of our education.
Our teacher is Mrs Brougham and Mrs Gargan (who covers our PPA) will help us to continue our love of learning- even when things get tough. Our learning assistant, Miss Farrell will continue to be an amazing support to us all.
In spring term, we will cover a lot of learning and experiences. In English, we will complete pieces of writing around the book 'Kai and the Monkey King'. In guided reading, we will be reading 'A Midsummer Night's Dream and 'Letters to Africa'. In maths we will consolidate our knowledge of fractions. In history,we will be looking at local history, including Precot, Rainhill and Liverpool. In geography, we will begin to learn about America.
This term, we will be visiting the Totally Wicked Stadium.
All of this and not to mention, school, eco and sports council events and whole school competitions and experiences.
We have a really busy term ahead!
