Year 3 - Miss Walker 2025 - 2026

Miss Walker

Hello, and welcome to Year 3!

I'm Miss Walker and our Learning Support Assistant is Mrs Rose.  Mrs Gargan will also be teaching Music and RE in our class on a Wednesday afternoon.

We hope the children are refreshed after their break and are ready for Autumn 2.

PE this half term will be on a Wednesday and Friday so please ensure that the children wear their PE kit for school on these days. The children are to come in a plain black cotton tracksuit, with no visible branding or logos. No leggings or cycling shorts please. The children can also come into school with black trainers, which are more sturdy than black pumps. The children will need to wear their PE T-shirt under their tracksuit as they may get warm during the lesson.

This term each child will be given a colour banded book and will have a for pleasure for reading book in school. These will be changed on a Monday and Friday.

In Key Stage Two homework will be set as a grid (attached below), with the children expected to complete one question a week from the grid . We also expect children to have read 3 times a week and practise their weekly spellings (attached below). In addition, the children have got a Times Tables Rockstars login, in their planners, therefore they can practise the times tables that are set for them.

Spellings will be sent home on Mondays and put on our class page and there will be an informal spelling test in class on Fridays.

We have lots of interesting learning coming up this half term.

In English we will be continuing to explore different opportunities for writing around out book- Seal surfer.
